Just in time for the new school year, it has been established: the position for youth social work at the Matthias-Ehrenfried-School (MES) in Rimpar. To mark the start, Rimpar's Mayor Bernhard Weidner (right) and the managing director of the market town of Rimpar, Alexander Fuchs (center), visited the graduate social pedagogue Ingrid Gottfried (second from right) and wished her, along with Jeannine Wendt (left) from the sponsoring association AWO District Association Lower Franconia and the head of the elementary school Sabine Schneegold (second from left), all the best in her new work. Ingrid Gottfried studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg and previously worked at various elementary, middle, and special education schools.
Her office is set up, and one or two students have already visited her to ask for advice with smaller or larger problems. As a youth social worker, Ingrid Gottfried is a contact person for students facing difficulties at school, problems in the family and with friends, conflicts with classmates, and in cooperation with extracurricular institutions. She helps parents and legal guardians with questions regarding upbringing and in establishing contact with other supportive institutions. She also supports teachers, when needed, with social-educational projects and their implementation, as well as in fostering a good class community or in conflict resolution.
Ingrid Gottfried can be reached in her office on the 2nd floor every school day from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
